Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training

Hazardous waste site workers involved in the clean up of hazardous materials, emergency response personnel, and occasional site workers involved on the site and workers not involved in the cleaning up of hazardous materials need  HAZWOPER training.

OSHA requires initial & refresher classroom instruction for HAZWOPER workers before starting work assignments. HAZWOPER 8, 24 & 40 Hour training is available onsite on demand in English or Spanish.

 

HAZWOPER- First Responder Awareness Level 1 Training (Duration: 4 Hours Classroom Instruction)

HAZWOPER- First Responder Operations Level 2 Training (Duration: 8 Hours Classroom Instruction)

HAZWOPER- HAZMAT Technician Level 3 Training (Duration: 24 Hours Classroom Instruction)

Note: Employers must train workers additionally in hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their specific jobsites.

HAZWOPER- HAZMAT Specialist Level 4 Training (Duration: 24 Hours Classroom Instruction)

Note: Employers must train workers additionally in hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their specific jobsites.

HAZWOPER- On the Scene Incident Commander Level 5 Training (Duration: 8 Hours Classroom Instruction)

Note: Employers must train workers additionally in hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their specific jobsites.

HAZWOPER- Annual Refresher Training (Duration: 8 Hours Classroom Instruction)

This course is designed to meet the OSHA requirement for annual emergency response refresher training for individuals who have previously completed the Technician or Operations Level training.

Topics include incident review, hazard recognition/ evaluation/control, health and safety program requirements and regulations, monitoring equipment, safe work practices, and donning/doffing personal protective equipment. This training satisfies all requirements set forth in 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(8).

 

General Site Worker Training / Routine Site Employee – (Duration: 40 Hours Classroom Instruction)

Note: Additionally employers are required to give worker a minimum of three days actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor. Employers must train workers additionally in hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their specific jobsites.

Regular Site Worker Training / Routine Site Employee – Minimal Exposure - (Duration: 24 Hours Classroom Instruction)

Note: Additionally employers are required to give worker a minimum of one day actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor. Employers must train workers additionally in hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their specific jobsites.

Occational Site Worker Training / Non-Routine Site Employee - (Duration: 24 Hours Classroom Instruction)

Note: Additionally employers are required to give worker a minimum of one day actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor. Employers must train workers additionally in hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their specific jobsites.

Management, & Supervisor Site Worker Training – (Duration: 40 Hours Classroom Instruction)

The basic purpose for the HAZWOPER Standard is to set guidelines for workers who work with hazardous waste, and that they receive specific training in accordance with their expected job functions. The standard breaks down the training requirements into three main groups of workers.

3. Hazardous Waste Emergency Responders
